Austin Ratna Shri is deeply honored to welcome Venerable Drupon Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, our Spiritual Director and a revered yogi and lineage holder of the Drikung Kagyu tradition, to lead a rare and precious Chakrasamvara Drupcho.

A Drupcho is an intensive multi-day group accomplishment practice in which practitioners come together to engage in the complete liturgy of an enlightened yidam deity. Through meditation, visualization, mantra recitation, ritual offerings, music, and prayers, the sangha enters into a powerful collective practice dedicated to awakening and the benefit of all beings.

Chakrasamvara, known in Tibetan as Khorlo Demchok, is the principal yidam of the Kagyu lineages and a central deity in the Fivefold Path of Mahamudra of the Drikung Kagyu tradition. The practice is a profound method for transforming ordinary experience into the path of awakening through the union of great bliss and emptiness—the nature of phenomena and the true nature of mind.

In the Drikung Kagyu lineage, Chakrasamvara practice is deeply connected with the great Indian Mahasiddha Drilbupa and the unbroken stream of realization transmitted through the Kagyu lineage. Its practice lineage is also closely woven into the heritage of the great masters Tilopa, Naropa, Marpa Lotsawa, Milarepa, and Gampopa.

The Five-Deity Chakrasamvara practice commonly practiced in the Drikung Kagyu tradition centers on Chakrasamvara in union with Vajravarahi, surrounded by four dakinis. Through the profound methods of Highest Yoga Tantra, practitioners engage in the transformation of ordinary appearances into enlightened experience, cultivating recognition of the innate Buddha nature.

This Drupcho is especially meaningful under the guidance of Venerable Drupon Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, who has received extensive Chakrasamvara transmissions and instructions, completed the grand mantra accumulation of Chakrasamvara, and has led this profound practice as a Drupchen and Extended Intensive Retreat, annually for many years at the Garchen Buddhist Institute.

Through the continuity of the practice, the power of the lineage, and the collective aspiration of the sangha, a Chakrasamvara Drupcho offers a precious opportunity to deepen one's connection with the lineage, accumulate merit and wisdom, purify obscurations, strengthen bodhicitta and devotion, and cultivate the profound view of the inseparability of bliss and emptiness.
